Born and raised in Miles City, MT, Jimmy has been riding bikes for most his life and has welded in a variety of professional settings over the course of the past 15 years. Ten years ago, he made his first bike rack. For several years, making bike racks was a hobby fueled by thriftiness, determination, and a passion for DIY projects. 

In 2020, Jimmy set out to make a custom bike rack with a hinge. He wanted the rack to be sturdy, sleek, and to provide easy access to the back of the vehicle while fully loaded with bikes- no heavy lifting required, no aftermarket parts necessary, and no sloppy bolt connections. The first rack was a success, but Jimmy saw some things he could improve upon so he set out to make another. And another. And another. Aaaand another. Through years of building and testing multiple iterations, the Jambo Design swing-out rack has evolved into one of the most burly, reliable, and convenient bike racks on the market.
